At least half of the Council members, but not more than two- thirds, are environmental health faculity. The remaining members are environmental health professionals from both the public and private sectors. The Council may authorize the employment of additional persons to assist in the Council activities.
Term
Council members serve three year terms and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms.
Officers
The Council elects a Chair, Vice-Chair for Undergraduate Programs, Vice-Chair for Graduate Programs, and Secretary and Treasurer.
Requirements
Elected Council members must have a minimum of ten years of environmental health experience— a master's degree in an appropriate discipline may substitute for two years experience, and a doctorate in an appropriate discipline may substitute for an additional three years. All elected Council members must have a minimum of five years of experience at a supervisory or academic level.
